A group of friends and I were leaving a restaurant in Tokyo (Fuku in Yakitori to be exact) and heard a child crying. After a few minutes of walking, we notice this child laying on the sidewalk outside of a store. The mother was patiently waiting for him to settle down so that they could go home. She even smiled and posed for this photo.
In America, this child would have been picked up, scolded, and carried home. God bless Tokyo.
